The Mac app is ad-hoc signed, not notarized. The Chrome extension is an unpacked preview, not a published store item. Clean-Mac installation and multi-hour endurance are still being verified. There is no trial counter or payment system in this version.
What’s in 0.7.6
- Caption translation uses the same compact subtitle chunks and text-length-based reading time as Tab audio.
- Brief caption gaps and pending translations no longer immediately clear a displayed subtitle.
- Seeking immediately clears the subtitle queue so old text is not carried into the new position.
Also included
- Standard browser subtitle/caption track detection, including tracks in open shadow roots, plus a YouTube adapter.
- On-device speech recognition and translation of selected-tab audio.
- Automatic Mac companion registration when opened once from Applications.
- A single Start / Stop / Setup action and adjustable subtitle positioning.
Known limitations
Apple silicon, macOS 26+ and Chrome 116+ are required. Users select the source language manually. Apple’s available models determine supported languages and pairs. Protected streams, picture-in-picture, native video/iframe fullscreen, closed shadow roots and inaccessible embedded-player events may prevent capture, caption access or overlay display. Ads and navigation can stop audio translation.
Audio subtitles follow speech and may be delayed or revised. Compatibility with every video website is not established. Updates are manual during the preview.
Download checksums
These SHA-256 values identify the exact files in this preview. They help check file integrity; they do not replace Apple notarization or developer signing.
